Modern Wedding Flowers at Kent’s Ripple Court Estate: A Stunning New Luxury Kent Wedding Venue

Nestled in the countryside of Deal, Kent - Ripple Court is a beautiful new luxury wedding venue that blends historic charm with contemporary elegance. Made with Grace had the total pleasure of creating modern, structure and texture focussed luxury wedding flowers, floral installations and styling back in September for a design conscious couple.

In this feature we are sharing the stunning professional photography by Lynn Shapiro and what we particularly love about Ripple Court Estate and a deeper dive into the wedding floral design concepts of the day. A beautiful day of Floral Design in Kent.

The Ceremony: Historic courtyard aisle grasses and grounded floral nest installation

Approaching MWG with a brief that was all about texture, contemporary shaping and a vintage edge, G & S’ said on their original enquiry form that they ‘would love to do something a bit different!’. The ceremony was to be (hopefully) held outside in the statement courtyard that had a vintage Mediterranean feel then up to the luxe marquee that looked across the beautiful grounds of the estate. The venue’s features already had such charm, lots of light and expansive space and the aim with the florals was to bring a softness, warmth and delicate interest to each area.

The bride had a sentimental attachment and a particular love for a certain variety of petite fluffy summer grass - miscanthus and envisioned an aisle lined with this. Luckily being September, the perfect time for grasses in the UK, we were able to make this a core element, lining the aisle with potted miscanthus and including it in the floral nest ceremony installation too. It moved with the breeze of the summer afternoon perfectly, complemented the surrounding stone and gave a beautifully gentle immersive feel to the space.

The ceremony installation was created with lots more texture, leaning into a muted but moodier palette to zone and frame the space and again enhance the softness and interest. Another seasonal fluffy favourite - smokebush, which is only available a few weeks of the year, led the way in this design, forming a frothy backdrop to the further blooms present.

The Reception : Clean and modern table styling and vintage florist bar floral installation

For the dining, the couple wished for a clean, restaurant inspired aesthetic with petite intentional styling on the tables and celebrating the focal oval bar in the centre of the marquee. For the tables we created delicate yet striking ikebana style arrangements in vintage marmalade jars. These celebrated another season specific grass variety - sanguisorba which we obtained early and dried specifically for this event to get the slightly deeper shade of burgundy which was a core colour in the wider styling landscape.

For the bar, the inspiration here was vintage floral stores, where blooms and greens are en-masse in buckets and vessels on staggered shelves. This brought the attention and colour into the focal centre of the space and was a playful, intriguing and different way to soften and elevate the area.

Versatility and Sustainability in Wedding Floral Design

Sustainability and versatility underpin this design service and so not only did we lean into seasonal varieties, create all designs with reusable, plastic free mechanics and support British flower farmers for this wedding we also made sure we could utilise the arrangements and floral impact thoughtfully across the day.

Therefore the floral nest installation was relocated to the marquee after the ceremony, creating a striking frame of the sweetheart dining table and base of the bar installation. With the speeches taking place in this space and of course many photos capturing this moment, having florals within these frames forever imprints the softness and aesthetic the day had.

What did the couple say?

G & S kindly shared this message when they returned from honeymoon -

'“Honestly, where to begin, thank you SO much for your incredible work on the florals. They were simply everything we could have dreamed of and more! They captured the exact mood and elevated undone-ness that we were after - somehow super statement whilst still flowing and blending into the spaces to make everything feel effortless. Really amazing, thank you."

Ripple Court provided the perfect canvas for G & S’s vision of a wedding that was both refined and contemporary, with floral designs that added texture, softness, and artistic elegance. From the thoughtful use of seasonal blooms to creative installations that reflected the couple’s unique style, every detail was crafted with care and intention. It was a true pleasure to collaborate on this concept and bring the ideas to life in such a beautiful venue. Thank you G & S for your trust.
